ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Here's what Alexis has already gotten done.

REGIONAL PARTNERSHIP

  • Spearheaded and executed the first multi-jurisdictional agreement since the formation of the agency: The North King County Agreement between five jurisdictions (Bothell, Kenmore, Lake Forest Park, Shoreline & Woodinville) and the KCRHA which brought over $500,000 under the agency’s budget oversight to administer for homeless services.

  • Orchestrated the strategic planning process including over 1000 service provider staff, people with lived experience, government partners, philanthropic partners, and the general public to develop the agency’s first strategic plan, the Five Year Plan, a legislative-required deliverable, which was unanimously approved by both the KCRHA Implementation Board and Governing Committee.

  • Worked alongside 39 regional city councils and city governments, 12 countywide committees, nearly 200 service provider organizations, as well as business community and philanthropic partners.

  • Organized a march against actions taken by the Trump Administration attended by over 1000 students, faculty, and staff.

INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS

  • Designed and developed a first comprehensive countywide public database detailing over 450 homeless service programs exploring over 20 programmatic characteristics using both Smartsheets and Airtable tools.

  • Created the SCA Equity Initiatives Inventory; an in-depth catalog and assessment of across 38 jurisdictions of efforts to advance racial equity exploring both internal and external practices and initiatives.

  • Created a housing market typology tool based on population density and average housing cost as percent of income for counties in Washington State to be used in evaluation and decision making for the Washington State Department of Commerce.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

  • For the Five Year Plan, I engineered a robust and transparent revision process for the Five Year Plan to incorporate the analytic results of a public survey with over 500 responses, findings from community-based lunch and learns, and feedback sessions from government partners; Organized a weekly publicly broadcast meeting for a subcommittee of the Implementation Board (an approving body of the Plan) to review, consider and edit the draft Plan leading up to the vote of the full Board.

  • Founded the Syracuse Chapter of Democracy Matter to advocate and educate about campaign finance reform and fair elections, which was the largest chapter in the U.S. in 2017.

  • Launched and ran a Small Claims Court Action Center with NYPIRG which provided free services and advice for students and community members that needed help with small claims court procedure.
